When we find nothing, we say we found nothing
If we cannot find a single symbol in the text you wrote, we tell you that we found nothing. We do not force a similar symbol onto it, or write a plausible sentence to fill the gap.
This is the most concerning issue for this service. The moment you fill in the blank, the interpretation that comes through and what is actually done diverges.
Why can't it be found?
It is usually one of the following.
- It is a symbol that is not yet in the dictionary. Currently, there are 2056 symbols listed, but there are many more that could appear in dreams.
- You only wrote your feelings. If you only have emotions like "I was scared" or "I felt strange," there are no symbols that can be identified. Traditional dream interpretation refers to visible objects and actions, not emotions.
- It is too short. It is better to write in sentences rather than just one or two words.
We do not leave a blank screen
When something cannot be found, we also show 7 frequently searched symbols on that screen. These are selected from the most representative in the dictionary, which can help you recall if one of them was in your dream.
If you want to browse through everything, you can find 2056 symbols organized by category in the symbol dictionary. Each symbol includes its conveyed meaning and related symbols.
How will the dictionary expand in the future?
Rather than increasing the numbers, we are first focusing on accurately identifying what is already there. We have included 6871 alternative names for the same symbols, and we have made sure that words with suffixes that change their forms can also be identified.
When expanding the symbols themselves, we only include what is written in the original text. If a meaning does not have a corresponding original phrase, an entry will not be created — simply increasing numbers without basis turns it into creation, not a dictionary.
